Mark your calendars! The Arc of Maryland’s 2008 Statewide Convention will be held April 25-26 at the Marriott Hunt Valley Inn. Dave Hingsberger, Keynote Speaker! Dave will be acting as our keynote speaker for both days of the Convention. Dave is a renowned speaker on the topics of healthy relationships, sexuality and the prevention of abuse for people with developmental disabilities. New Format for 2008 Convention Friday April 25 will be focused on topics of interest to staff of local chapters of The Arc, and will include awards, the Board meeting and President’s Reception. There will not be a dinner on Friday evening, but there may be a dance. Saturday April 26 will be organized and led by People On the Go of Maryland with a focus on self advocates and families. The location and format was decided upon in an effort to increase attendance by staff of local chapters as well as to give a less expensive opportunity to self advocacy members who might want to attend on Saturday only.
